Museum of Historical and Folklore Materials
This building was built in the 1830’s as a residence of the Egami Family and was given to the Miyajima municipality in its entirety. The municipality founded this museum by keeping the main building and storehouses of the residence intact and adding new exhibition rooms. On display are 3.000 items including painting and woodcraft, representative of Miyajima’s history and folklore.

Aquarium
The Miyajima Aquarium accommodates a rich variety of marine life. It is currently closed for renovation and will reopen in August 2011.
